WHY AND HOW GOD CREATED ANIMALS--$16.95
(Ages 10 and up; 63 pages) Students will go through a study of the five divisions of zoology, as outlined in Genesis of the Holy Bible. All animals on the planet are organized into these five divisions, and students have the chance to study each one and make their own textbook as they do their assignments and research. After studying the animal kingdom, students are asked to answer the question: WHY did God create animals?
Students DEFINE, EXPLAIN, and ILLUSTRATE the major vocabulary words in each of the five divisions. They then use religious writings or their scriptures of choice to study the spiritual use and symbolism of God's animal kingdom.
The five divisions and the major vocabulary words in this guidebook are:

The Study of Fish
Salt Water
Fresh Water
Example of a Learning Exercise: "List at least three types of fish that live in: (1) coastal waters, (2) coral reefs, (3) open ocean, and (4) deep ocean. Choose one of each kind to draw and color them on the pages provided."
Example of a Learning Exercise from the scriptures: "Using your topical guide, find at least three stories from the Bible which have something to do with a fish. In your own words, tell the story to a group and the lesson learned from the story. (Optional: Write the story in your own words, relating the lesson learned)."

The Study of Birds
Land birds
Water birds
Birds of prey
Flightless birds
Tropical birds
Game girds
Birds as Family pets
Example of a Learning Exercise: "Draw a picture of a bird that is a day hunter, and one that is a night hunter. Explain what the differences are in their creation that makes them hunt in the day or night."
Example of a Learning Exercise from the scriptures: "In Genesis 8:6-12, we read about two different birds. Read this account, and then re-write this story in your own words. Illustrate it in a series of pictures according to your own imagination."

The Study of Beasts
Wild
Domestic
Furry
Thick-skinned
Scaly
Example of a Learning Exercise: "Do a research report on lions. Why does man say that they gather in 'prides'? What are the duties and privileges of males and females? How do they care for their young? Write your findings and sketch a lion, lioness and cub."
Example of a Learning Exercise from the scriptures: "Using your topical guide, look up the word 'beast' and write at least two scriptures listed. Answer this question: Did dinosaurs still exist at the time of Adam and Eve?"

The Study of Cattle
Wild
Domestic
Example of a Learning Exercise: "Research the kinds of cattle that range in the great deserts of America and Africa. Compare their migration habits, their eating and drinking habits, how they care for their young, how they determine the leader of their herd, how they adapt to their climate. Draw one of these animals on the page provided. Are any of these animals becoming extinct? Why? What is mankind doing about that? Write your findings in your report."
Example of a Learning Exercise from the scriptures: "In the Garden of Eden, God clothed Adam and Eve with 'coats of skins' after they had partaken of the forbidden fruit [see Genesis 3:21]. Draw a picture of how you think Adam and Eve may have been dressed in these coats of skins. Then answer the question: How did the Lord get those coats of skins? How did He prepare them for wearing? Think about it! Meanwhile, design Adam and Eve's clothing beautifully - how you imagine they would be perfectly made by God Himself."

The Study of Creeping Things
Worms
Insects
Spiders
Crabs
Turtles
Snakes
Rodents
Example of a Learning Exercise: "Make a list of animals that eat worms. (Do certain people in human cultures eat them?) Study the many different kinds of worms and draw four types on the page provided. Make a list of all the uses of worms to mankind and the earth. Note: The study of worms is called helminthology. Look it up!)"
Example of a Learning Exercise from the scriptures: "Read Genesis 3:1-5 and describe in a paragraph the 'personality traits' of the serpent. Write down at least five tactics that Satan uses against mankind today."
