THE 1700s Set acquaints the students with:

The Spiritual Roots of America – Students learn about God’s “Promised Land” from the Garden of Eden to Noah. After the Great Flood came the Jaredites, the Mulekites, the Nephites and Lamanites, and Columbus. Finally America’s Thirteen Colonies of the 1700s set the stage for establishing the first free nation in modern times. Students study the Revolutionary War with the fictional Daniel Smythe story, and learn the principles of the Constitution while gaining a strong foundation in political science. This is the only century that is not studied by decades since the LDS Church is not yet organized, but the American ancestry of Joseph Smith is introduced.

THE 1800s Set acquaints the students with:

World Events: Students are introduced to new inventions, classical music, advances in transportation, communication, medicine, scientific knowledge, etc. Communism also introduced.

American History: Expansion of the United States, and the freedom, prosperity and peace that became the fruits of the Constitution. Students study each new state as it is added to the Union. Civil War events are also studied in depth.

LDS Church History: The Prophet Joseph Smith, the Restoration of the Gospel, persecution of the Saints, story of the Mormon Pioneers, and growth and development of the Church are all presented with stories and activities.

THE 1900s Set acquaints the students with:

World Events: Students learn about more new inventions of every kind, two world wars plus other wars, advances in population and a higher standard of living in many parts of the world.

American History: After the expansion of the United States, with two new states added, the whole nation prospers under freedom despite world wars. Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson warns that the Gadianton Robbers are a threat inside the U.S. government, and these adverse philosophies are studied and analyzed so students can recognize them.

LDS Church History: By the end of this century there is explosive progress in the Church with “temples dotting the earth” and millions of members world-wide.
